As part of the St. Vital Transmission Complex, the following work is planned in Sage Creek:

  • 2 230-kV transmission lines will run from St. Vital Station (north of Sage Creek) to La Verendrye Station (west of Winnipeg) and De Salaberry East Station (south of Winnipeg).
  • A total of 13 new towers will be installed in the Manitoba Hydro corridor in Sage Creek on the east side of the right-of-way, parallel to the existing transmission line:
    • North of Edward Turner Drive:
      • 2 230-kV transmission lines on 2 towers.
    • From Edward Turner Drive to Warde Avenue:
      • 2 230-kV transmission lines strung together across 4 large towers. A double circuit design in this area was based on input from the local community. This moves the towers and conductors further away from the homes on the east side of the corridor.
    • South of Warde Avenue:
      • 1 double circuit tower and 2 230-kV transmission lines on 6 separate towers situated on the east side of the existing right-of-way.
